Indian automobile market has always had a keen eye towards small and compact family cars. Price and mileage have always been major considerations for the Indian car owners with engine performance and safety features popping on the favored list. Toyota Etios Liva is the first family car with a new design that accommodates all the above features. This car has been specially designed by Toyota India to suit the family car section and is expected to give a stiff competition to Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10 and Ford Figo at a comparable price junction.
Toyota launched the first Indian Hatchback Etios Liva in New Delhi on June 27, 2011. The response to this model has been overwhelmingly positive. This model is all geared to traverse the Indian roads. Toyota Etios Liva has been designed after analyzing the gap Indian markets were facing in the family car segment. To give the highest standards at competitive price is the assurance given by Toyota.
To start with, Toyota has launched the petrol version with a 4-Cylinder 16V DOHC engine delivering a fuel efficiency of 18.31 kilometers per liter. However, Indian consumers await the launch of the diesel variant soon expecting another power packed machine in the offing. Toyota has rolled out Etios Liva in five variants – J, G, G+, V and Etios Liva VX.
Toyota Etios Liva price begins at Rs 3.99 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom price in Delhi) for the top end model. This price is a fulfillment of the promise from Toyota to match the benchmark for affordability of a hatchback in India. Known for making higher end cars, this is the first time Toyota would be handling the lower end customers. Leaving cynics to stand gaping, Toyota has not compromised on the quality of the make anyway. All it had to do to bring down the price was to use its knife at places where the users cannot make out.
